The Scottish Parliament is now dissolved ahead of the election on Thursday 7 May 2026.

During dissolution, there are no MSPs and no parliamentary business can take place.

Arrange a visit

Members of the public

To book a tour of the Scottish Parliament, please email Visitor Services: [email protected]

Visitors from other parliaments and official delegates from other countries

If you would like to request an official visit, hosted by the International Relations Office (IRO), please email [email protected] at least 6 weeks before your intended arrival.

A member of the IRO team will then be in touch.

Requests to visit must be made directly by:

  • Other parliaments
  • Embassies, High Commissions or Consulates General
  • Inter-parliamentary bodies which have been identified as partners by the Scottish Parliament
  • Individual MPs and their staff

IRO can support visits involving:

  • Speakers, Presidents or Presiding Officers (and their deputies)
  • Ambassadors, High Commissioners, Heads of Mission or Consuls General
  • Parliamentarians (if the aim of the visit is parliamentary rather than political)
  • Prime Ministers and government ministers (if the aim of the visit is parliamentary)
  • Officials

Please note:

  • visits generally do not take place on Mondays and Fridays or during recess
  • political meetings with party leaders or individual MSPs cannot be arranged by the IRO – you should contact party leaders or the MSP's office directly

The IRO handles personal data carefully and responsibly in accordance with the UK's current data protection requirements, which include the UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
