The collection represents a diverse range of Scotland’s artists, makers and photographers.

About the collection

Come and see our collection of contemporary art, sculpture, craft and photography.

A number of artworks are on display in the public areas of the Parliament and you’re welcome to view them whenever we’re open. 

The collection explores themes such as: 

  • the relationship between people and the environment
  • the identities and histories of Scotland’s people
  • the history of the Scottish Parliament

There’s a range of works including oil paintings, sculpture, photography, textiles, mixed media artworks and installations. The permanent collection represents 70 of Scotland’s artists.
