To ask the Scottish Government what regulations it is considering reforming or removing in order to speed up the planning process. Scotland’s planning system has already undergone significant system changes including through the Planning (Scotland) Act 2019 and the adoption of National Planning Framework 4, Scotland’s long-term spatial strategy, which sets out where development and infrastructure is needed.

The petition calls on the Parliament to protect the future of the taxi trade by providing financial support to taxi drivers, setting up a national stakeholder group with trade union driver representatives and reviewing low-emission standards and implementation dates. Transport Scotland has confirmed that a meeting was initiated and facilitated by Glasgow City Council with Unite, the Energy Saving Trust and Transport Scotland.

We are also working with local authorities to develop Scotland’s Energy Efficiency Programme (SEEP), including funding pilot projects to test new and innovative ways to improve the energy efficiency and decarbonise the heat supply of all Scotland’s buildings.
