I am well aware of the problems associated with Seafield and the continuing work that Susan Deacon undertakes on behalf of her constituents to try to get a resolution to the problem. I am also aware that there is an on-going legal position on Seafield, but let me state that the new code of practice applies to the works operated by private finance initiative...

I recognise the member's point, however. Teachers can indeed get exposed to that sort of coverage in relation to an accusation that is not upheld in court, but so can individuals in other circumstances who go to court and are subsequently proved to be not guilty.

We need to reflect on the difficulties of the issue and the importance of getting it resolved correctly. I cannot therefore concur with the comments that she made that the delays relate to wilful procrastination or whatever.
