However, before issuing funding guidelines, we are conducting a review of breakfast services to establish details on numbers of places and providers, where appropriate demand lies and best use of the funds to support the service.
Appropriate arrangements are already in place in Scotland, which recognise that general practitioners and other health professionals are best placed to advise and inform patients, and to refer to a specialist in appropriate cases.
While it is clearly in the public interest for such vehicles to be readily identifiable we believe that, because licensing requirements vary considerably between areas, local authorities are best placed to determine the precise arrangements for their area.
