The Scottish Tourist Board, working in partnership with other Government agencies, the Area Tourist Boards, the industry itself through the Scottish Tourism Forum and other representative bodies, is best placed to undertake this task. S1W-01279
I suppose that the hard question is whether the current pattern of service and station location is the best way to invest the £340 million, or whether it should be changed to include other stations.
What remains to be done is to make a judgment about what limit best achieves the correct balance between satisfying public accountability and having a sensible system.
My task today is to say what I think is the best course for policy, infrastructure and our strategic direction.In policy terms, the Executive's objectives for Scotland's future cultural development are those that I suggested during our September debate.
