The provision of flexible person-centred care packages that include equipment and adaptations delivered through a modern community care structure is the best way to achieve this. Legislation and guidance on the provision of equipment and adaptations is summarised in Using the Law to Develop and Improve Equipment and Adaptation Provision published by the Scottish Executive in 2003.It is a matter for individual local partnerships to decide how resources should best be deployed to meet local needs and priorities, consistent with their statutory functions and with government policy.
