However, if the regulations do not say that, they are poorly drafted at best. They should make it absolutely clear that the periods should be of six months, rather than some other indeterminate period.
We need those who come from the European Union and, for that matter, further afield to do the job. We will investigate what the best source of evidence on that area might be.
Now we come to the nub of the matter. The committee may feel that the best procedure to follow would be to invite someone from the Executive to come to the committee next week so that we can ask them how the power is intended to be used.
I do not think that we have to go through every issue that has been brought to our attention. It would be best to draw all the points together in a critique of the regulations and to put that before the Executive.
