For many years now, mobilisation has applied to reservists, who, technically, still live in our communities. Do not get me wrong, regular service personnel come from our communities, too, but reservists who get called up are very close to them.
For example, the circumstances may not involve a councillor. We sometimes get complaints about officials in local authorities or public bodies, who are not covered by the code, and we sometimes get complaints about things that are simply not covered by the code.
Constituents who knew that you were working on the matter have asked whether, if the bill progresses through the member’s bill route, you have any idea of the timescale involved. Do you get the feeling that it will get nods along the way?
