Response from the Social Security Committee
Thank you for your letter of 9 December concerning my Committee's European activities.
To date the Social Security Committee has not engaged in any work that touches on European issues.
There should be every opportunity for our networks, and I applaud Scottish Chambers of Commerce’s activities to get companies to see the possibilities.
However, as I have stated, sometimes the jury gets it right and sometimes it gets it wrong, and our current system has a responsibility to ensure that truth, trust, and—most important—common sense prevail at the end of the day.
To ask the Scottish Government what measures are in place to deliver sustainable transport improvements across Fife, including active travel and public transport upgrades, in support of net zero targets.
To ask the Scottish Government whether it will provide an update on any discussions that it has had with universities across Scotland about how public money is used, including in relation to any activities that may impact the ongoing conflict in Palestine.
To ask the Scottish Government whether it will provide an update on the Deposit Return Scheme, in light of the First Minister recently stating that he was actively looking at options around the scheme and that he was "taking advice".
