Item 10 is consideration of the committee’s approach to scrutiny of the Ecocide (Scotland) Bill. I would also like to get the committee’s agreement on taking our draft report on the draft climate change plan in private at future meetings.
We contact the Scottish Parliament information centre, which is the Parliament’s independent research body, to get a briefing on the substance of the issues that are raised in the petition, and we write to the Scottish Government for an initial impression of those issues.
