To ask the Scottish Executive how it intends to close any widening of the gap in attainment levels between pupils from advantaged and disadvantaged backgrounds in Aberdeen. The Standards in Scotland's Schools Act 2000 puts a duty on all local authorities, including Aberdeen City, to publish an Annual Statement of Improvement Objectives showing how they will meet the National Priorities in education, and help to close the achievement gap.Funding for a range of national initiatives is in place to support disadvantaged children in Aberdeen and throughout Scotland.
