Female participation in sport and physical activity - Lack of positive role models
The Committee heard many examples of good work being undertaken to try to overcome these barriers. The Active Schools Programme was highlighted numerous times as a successful vehicle for increasing girls' participation and of introducing girls and young women to leadership roles in sport and physical activity.
