As data on attendance and exclusions for looked after children is collected every two years, the most recent data to be published is for the year 2020/21. The key findings were that attendance rates for looked after children increased from 86.8% in 2018/19 to 87.9% in 2020/21, despite a slight decrease in attendance for pupils overall from 93% in 2018/19 to 92% in 2020/21, and that attendance rates for pupils looked after in a foster care placement was higher attendance rates for all pupils.
