Smart meters have an important role to play in helping the Scottish Government achieve our aim of increasing energy efficiency across Scotland as well as helping consumers manage their spend on energy.
The Cabinet Secretary for Net Zero, Energy and Transport met with Solar EnergyScotland (SES) in February, with the Minister for Public Finance, Planning and Community Wealth meeting with them in May and myself in September.
However, it is true that, given the value of the industry to Scotland and the Scottish economy, our understanding and belief are that there really should be more funding available.
