The Young Patients Family Fund (YPFF) is designed to support the families of all babies, children and young people from birth to age 18 who require inpatient care in Scotland, regardless of diagnosis.The YPFF is a demand-led fund and the Scottish Government has ensured full funding against demand in each year since its launch on 26 July 2021. The 2025-26 budget has been set based on expected demand levels and the Scottish Government remains committed to provide full funding for the YPFF in 2025-26.Financial support for travel to hospital appointments is available through the patient travel expenses reimbursement schemes.

P ART 4A U NIVERSAL CREDIT : PAYMENT TO JOINT CLAIMANTS 53A Universal credit: payment to joint claimants 15 (1) The Scottish Ministers must bring forward regulations under section 30 of the Scotland Act 2016 to give effect to the proposal described in subsection (3). (2) In subsection (1), “bring forward” means— (a) consult the Secretary of State about the practicability of implementing the regulations in accordance with section 30(3) of the Scotland Act 2016, and 20 (b) lay regulations before the Scottish Parliament. (3) The regulations must give effect to the proposal that, despite regulation 47(4) to (6) of the 2013 Claims and Payments Regulations (payment of universal credit to joint claimants), universal credit payable in respect of Scottish joint claimants is to be split between the couple in such proportion as the Scottish Ministers consider appropriate 25 unless the Scottish joint claimants elect to nominate a single bank or other account into which that benefit is to be paid. (4) For the avoidance of doubt, the regulations under subsection (1), must give effect only to the proposal described in subsection (3). (5) The Scottish Ministers may by regulations repeal this section and revoke any regulations 30 made under it. (6) In this section— (a) “the 2013 Claims and Payments Regulations” means the Universal Credit, Personal Independence Payment, Jobseeker’s Allowance and Employment and Support Allowance (Claims and Payments) Regulations 2013, 35 (b) “couple” has the meaning given by section 39 of the Welfare Reform Act 2012, (c) “Scottish joint claimants” means a couple living in Scotland who jointly make a claim for, or have been awarded, universal credit.

I refer the member to the answers to question S6W-40743 on 25 September 2025 and question S6W-40895 on 21 October 2025.As set out, further to Parliament’s approval of the 2025-26 Scottish Budget on 25 February 2025, the Scottish Government engaged closely with NHS boards to support the allocation of resource for new specialist support for Long COVID, Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME)/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) and other similar conditions.NHS boards were contacted on 10 January 2025 inviting feedback by 22 January on activities which could be delivered and supported by single-year funding of £4.5 million allocated on a non-recurring basis in the financial year 2025-26.
