To ask the Scottish Executive what recent discussions have taken place with COSLA and other interested parties anent the implementation of guidelines to assist local authorities to manage existing allotment sites and to create such sites in urban settings.

I am informed by NHS Greater Glasgow that the Golden Jubilee National Hospital proposal enables them to accelerate the siting of Cardiothoracic surgery on a single site as proposed in the Acute Services Review.

There is no requirement on landfill operators in the Landfill (Scotland) Regulations2003, if they detect unsuitable materials being delivered to their sites, to reportor record such incidents, only that they do not accept such deliveries.
