That does not seem to be happening currently, and we and Mr Harvie would not expect it to happen if the bill was passed. I did not use the expression “anything goes”. However, if we are to codify the system for assisted suicide by setting out a clear process by which a person can assist someone to commit suicide and by using the catch-all expression “acting in good faith”, it is reasonable for us, in scrutinising the bill, to ask for some examples of what would constitute “acting in good faith” and what would not.
