Amendment 324 follows amendment 52, which the committee passed on 26 September. Amendment 52 empowers the legal complaints commission, when upholding a service complaint, to make a report to the relevant professional organisation, if it considers that the practitioner concerned might lack competence in a certain area of law or legal practice.
