I can also confirm the Scottish Government will honour its existing published commitments to collaborative policy development, and will engage proportionately with relevant stakeholders in considering decisions to align. The Committee has expressed its interest in the EU laws with which the Scottish Government will not align.

Engagement has taken place with Regional Transport Partnerships regarding the pilot, via an Expression of Interest process. This process was taken forward for RTPs to provide information on how they would work with Transport Scotland and bus operators to deliver the pilot in their area.

Over the last few years, woodland creation has fluctuated between just over 8000ha (2022/23) and 15,000ha (2023/24) in a single year. In 2025/26, 7,220ha of new woodland were created, including 4,240ha of native woodland.
