National Treatment Centre (Cumbernauld) In 2021, the First Minister promised for Cumbernauld a new national treatment centre, which was supposed to treat its first patient in 2026.
We are sorry to see Dean go, but we wish him well in his new role, and we thank him for his service to the committee and for being a courteous and consensus-seeking convener of it.
That aligns with our commitments to do no harm and to build more gender-responsive programmes. The new mainstreaming approach will, equally, apply to our new health and education programmes, which we will also launch in 2024.

The First Minister’s work in Chicago also included a number of business meetings which secured over 140 new jobs and tens of millions in new investment from US based companies who are successfully expanding their operations in Scotland.
I know that, during this coming week, we will see the children grow in confidence. They will learn new skills. They will face challenges that will be new to them and they will emerge from this week stronger as individuals and as a class.
