My amendment at stage 2 was to commit ministers to an annual campaign to raise awareness of both deemed and express authorisation and opting out. David Stewart’s amendment was to commit the national health service to communicating with patients about authorisation and opting out.
Red Road Flats Site 5. To ask the First Minister what discussions the Scottish Government has had with Glasgow City Council concerning the future of the site of the Red Road flats following the demolition of the existing buildings.
Opencast Coal Industry (Unrestored Sites) To ask the Scottish Government what response it has received from the United Kingdom Government to its request that money collected from the opencast coal industry in Scotland should be made available to fund the legacy of Scotland’s unrestored opencast sites.
I am grateful to Victim Support Scotland for having set up those sites, but Kate Wallace and I have often talked about the fact that it seems that we are somehow trying to make those sites more robust than the existing provision in a courtroom.
The monitoring and evaluation of the outcome, and existing policies, was also vital. We expressed concerns which our successor committee may wish to be aware of on the availability of housing data.
