A range of key provisions in the 2020 Act, affecting parents and grandparents in contact cases, are not yet in force.
On “Tapping all our Talents 2018” and the two reports, the general issue is that, although there is always new research—new ideas and so on—the question is about its implementation.
It will also mean that, at a later stage, we may have to reskill those people in order to respond to new and adopted technologies. Both the retail and construction sectors are currently facing pressures, but for quite different reasons.

To ask the Scottish Executive what percentage of the core paths in local authority plans are new paths. I refer the member to the answer to question S3W-20980 on 26 February 2009.
We will ask the clerks to take back our concerns about capacity to consider the new powers, given that dealing with the new powers should be a normal part of a committee’s ordinary working and scrutiny.
