I will add something quickly, because it might be of interest to the committee. The Shawfield site, which straddles Glasgow and South Lanarkshire, is the most contaminated site in Europe.
Normally, it is communicated as a one-in-200-years or one-in-100-years risk, which is easily open to misinterpretation. For example, if there are 100 sites, each with a one-in-100-years risk, the likelihood is that one of those sites will flood every year.
