Colleges At the meeting, the Cabinet Secretary was asked about the increase in the resource budget of £26 million for colleges in 2023/24. The Committee asks the Cabinet Secretary to provide details of how the £26 million will be used.
The amendments will further strengthen the statutory guidance on the visitor levy. They reflect the views that were expressed at stage 2, and I ask members to support them.
The Committee completed Stage 2 consideration of the Bill on 26 September 2024.
Stage 3 proceedings took place on 3 December 2024 and the Bill became law on 23 January 2025.
Budget Scrutiny
The Committee undertook pre-budget scrutiny in advance of the Scottish Government's 2025-26 budget. The key focus was on the financial pressures facing organisations in the criminal justice sector and the main priorities for 2025-26.
