They may also be so subject as a result of the imposition of (a) a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO), which came into being in Scotland on 31 March 2023, replacing Sexual Offences Prevention Orders (SOPOs) or (b) the breach of a Sexual Risk Order (SRO), which came into being in Scotland on 31 March 2023, replacing Risk of Sexual Harm Orders (RoSHOs). While no new SOPOs or RoSHOs can be imposed, transitional and savings provisions in section 40 of the Abusive Behaviour and Sexual Harm (Scotland) Act 2016 and regulation 4 of S.S.I. 2023/51 mean that orders existing at that date remain in operation, the latest possible date for them to cease to have effect being 31 March 2028.
