This may include relevant literature being sent to the farmer free of charge or a recommendation to have an individual on-farm visit, although farmers are expected to pay for the visits.
If we take the UK spending level to be 100, members will note that education spending in Scotland at the start of the devolution period was 26 per cent above the UK average, but has now fallen to 17 per cent above the UK—117 in the table.
However, I assure the chamber that those members who visited schools during and outwith the election period and spoke to pupils and teachers can verify that the pupils said—they certainly said it to me at the schools that I visited—that they had lost facilities because of the new PFI or PPP schools.
