PE2251: Create Stronger and More Consistent Dog Control Measures in Scotland

Petition Summary

Calling on the Scottish Parliament to urge the Scottish Government to review and modernise the Control of Dogs (Scotland) Act 2010. Proposed measures for review and modernisation include the immediate detention of dogs involved in serious attacks, accountability for irresponsible owners, a national expert review panel for dog-on-dog fatalities, licensing for owners of large powerful dogs and professional dog walkers, limits on the number of dogs one person can safely control, and mandatory third-party liability insurance for all dog owners.
