How to get to the Scottish Parliament
There are many ways to get to the Scottish Parliament.
The Scottish Parliament building is located in the Holyrood area of central Edinburgh at the foot of the Royal Mile, on Horse Wynd, opposite the Palace of Holyroodhouse.
Security
As we are a working parliament, it is necessary to pass through security to enter the building. Usually, this should take only a few minutes but we recommend arriving 20 minutes before an event or meeting as there may be queues. This short video explains what you can expect on arrival.
What you can do on a visit
Different options are available, depending on the day you visit.
