Scotland Loves Local Benefitting Midlothian South, Tweeddale and Lauderdale

  • Submitted by: Christine Grahame, Midlothian South, Tweeddale and Lauderdale, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Monday, 06 December 2021
  • Motion reference: S6M-02382

That the Parliament welcomes the first round of funding from the Scotland Loves Local Fund; notes that the funding is supporting over 100 organisations, including Peebles CAN, Energise Galashiels Trust and Gorebridge Community Development Trust, which will receive a share of the £1.5 million funding to help revitalise cities, town centres and neighbourhoods across Scotland; believes that such support is vital to help local economies recover from the impact of the pandemic and to help restore local tourism, make town centres more environmentally friendly and sustainable, and support communities to refurbish shop fronts and public spaces ahead of the festive season, and congratulates those successful recipients and looks forward to seeing the positive difference this funding will make.
