That the Parliament notes concerns raised by over 100 environmental, human rights, health, faith, and community organisations and unions; calls on the Scottish Government to stand by its commitment to incorporate the universal human right to a clean, healthy and sustainable environment in its forthcoming Human Rights Bill; understands that this was a key recommendation from the National Taskforce for Human Rights Leadership; acknowledges that 166 out of 193 UN member states now recognise a clean, healthy and sustainable environment as a universal human right, essential for the effective enjoyment of all human rights for present and future generations; believes that this right should be incorporated into a Bill to ensure that it will apply to everyone in Scotland, and further believes that the Scottish Government should follow the principle of maximalisation as its core approach to the Human Rights Bill.
