That the Parliament congratulates Scotland after it defeated Italy by 6-5 to win the Le Gruyere AOP European Curling Championship men’s title in the RT Torax Arena in Ostrava, Czechia; recognises that Grant Hardie, from Dumfries, claimed a record-equalling fifth European Curling Championship gold, having previously won the event four times as part of Team Mouat; notes that Grant is now playing alongside Ross Whyte, also from Dumfries, and Euan Kyle from Stranraer; congratulates the team on securing victory in a tense contest, with the two countries trading scores for the first seven ends, including a steal of two in the crucial fourth end, before snatching the decisive score in the eighth to justify its status as the pre-tournament favourite, and acknowledges that the victory means that Hardie now has seven medals from seven attempts at this event and joins Mike Hay and his uncle, Hammy McMillan Sr, also from Stranraer, as the only Scots to have won five European Championship gold medals.
