That the Parliament recognises the fantastic community fundraising efforts of Tony Hughes and his family, who transformed their garden into a Halloween attraction for the third consecutive year; understands that, following previous fundraising efforts for Glasgow’s Sick Kids and the Les Hoey MBE DreamMaker Foundation, the family dedicated the 2026 display to supporting Newmains and District Gala Day; acknowledges that the attraction brought families and residents together to enjoy Halloween festivities, with 140 sweetie bags and 100 hot dogs handed out during one evening; welcomes that the family raised an impressive £600 through donations and raffle ticket sales; thanks everyone who contributed, including those who donated raffle prizes and food; gives particular recognition to Kelly Alexander, ASDA Community Champion, for her continued support; commends Tony, Jade and Aimee Hughes, Anne Liddle and the wider community, for their generosity, hard work and commitment to bringing the community together, and wishes Newmains and District Gala Day continued success.
