That the Parliament welcomes the installation of a replacement publicly accessible defibrillator outside Selkirk Rugby Football Club, which is available to members of the public 24 hours a day; recognises the vital importance of having lifesaving equipment readily available within local communities, particularly in situations where rapid intervention can make a critical difference to someone experiencing a cardiac arrest; commends everyone involved in ensuring that the replacement defibrillator has been installed and remains accessible to residents, visitors and those using the rugby club's facilities; acknowledges the important contribution that community sports clubs make beyond sporting activity, including their role in supporting public wellbeing, community safety and local resilience; believes that increasing awareness of the location and availability of defibrillators can help communities feel better prepared to respond to medical emergencies; welcomes this positive development for Selkirk, and encourages continued efforts to improve access to lifesaving equipment and promote awareness of emergency first aid across the Scottish Borders.
