That the Parliament welcomes the launch of the Infrastructure Pathway at Panmure House, Edinburgh, on 19 October 2026; recognises the important role of Heriot-Watt University, University of Edinburgh and the University of Glasgow in developing this pioneering educational initiative involving Midlothian schools and partnerships with industry; understands that the pathway connects learning from school through to higher and further education, apprenticeships and employment, helping young people to discover opportunities and develop skills for careers in infrastructure and the built environment; notes that its cornerstone SCQF Level 6 qualification, Global Infrastructure and the Built Environment, combines academic learning with experience of real-world projects and engagement with universities, colleges and industry; believes that collaboration between education and industry can play an important role in developing the skills and talent needed to support Scotland’s future economy and communities; commends Heriot-Watt University, the participating schools, universities, colleges and industry partners for their work in developing the Infrastructure Pathway, and wishes the initiative and its learners every success for the future.
