That the Parliament commends Mearns Castle High School in East Renfrewshire, and its headteacher, Mr Clark, for appointing a principal teacher of AI literacy, Mr Laycock; notes that all S1 and S2 pupils will receive AI literacy lessons, that learning for other year groups will be incorporated into citizenship and personal education classes, and that senior pupils will have the opportunity to take an AI literacy course as an elective; recognises that the use of artificial intelligence is increasing in both schools and workplaces, and that current and future generations of workers must be equipped to understand both how it can add value and its limitations, and that, to do so, they must have the skills necessary to question and challenge it, including the ability to identify fake images and inaccurate information, and encourages other schools and local authorities to learn more about Mearns Castle High School's plans and how they could inform their own work.
