That the Parliament recognises One Health Day on 3 November 2026; understands that the health of people, animals, plants and the wider environment is interconnected; considers that cooperation across human, animal and environmental health can help prevent diseases that spread between animals and people, address antimicrobial resistance, improve food safety and protect ecosystems; welcomes Scotland’s contribution to One Health research, education and practice, including the University of the Highlands and Islands’ One Health strategy and its membership of the Planetary Health Alliance; commends collaboration among health and veterinary professionals, environmental organisations, farmers and crofters, researchers and communities to advance these shared aims; considers that One Health Day provides an opportunity to raise public awareness of these connections and strengthen cooperation across sectors in the Highlands and Islands and throughout Scotland; welcomes the international exchange of knowledge and experience to support healthier communities and ecosystems, and encourages public bodies, educational institutions, professional organisations and communities to mark the day and share examples of One Health in practice.
