AWARE Scotland's Aviemore Residential Trip 2026

That the Parliament congratulates AWARE Scotland on its three-night residential trip to Aviemore from 24 to 27 September 2026 to provide 41 disabled and disadvantaged young people from Glasgow and surrounding areas with the opportunity to enjoy a break away from home in a safe, supportive and inclusive environment; recognises the importance of the trip being provided completely free of charge, ensuring that financial circumstances are not a barrier to participation; notes that the young people will have the opportunity to experience new activities, build confidence and independence, develop new friendships and create lasting memories; recognises the valuable respite that the trip also provides to parents and carers; commends AWARE Scotland for its wider programme of respite breaks, days out, fitness and wellbeing activities, which aim to support the physical, social and emotional wellbeing of young people; recognises the dedication of AWARE Scotland’s volunteers, whose work helps make these opportunities possible; notes that AWARE Scotland’s activities are funded through fundraising and donations, with its programmes designed to ensure that young people of different backgrounds and abilities can take part, and wishes all 41 young people, their families, volunteers and the AWARE Scotland team a fantastic and memorable trip to Aviemore.
