That the Parliament congratulates everyone involved at GlenWyvis Distillery on what has been achieved since the community came together to establish it in 2015; understands that GlenWyvis, which is owned by its members, was the world's first distillery owned entirely by the local community, that its first share offer raised £2.6 million in 77 days and that more than 3,000 people have since invested in the project; recognises that distilling returned to Dingwall in 2018 for the first time since the closure of the Ben Wyvis distillery in 1926, restoring a tradition that reaches back to the Ferintosh privilege, which was granted across the Cromarty Firth in 1690; commends the distillery's approach to sustainability, with its operations powered by renewable sources including wind, hydro, solar and biomass; notes the work of its GoodWill Fund in supporting community projects in and around Dingwall; acknowledges that the distillery has faced significant challenges in recent years, including the recruitment pressures common to the rural food and drink sector and difficult conditions in global spirits markets, and commends the perseverance of its directors, staff, volunteers and members in keeping distilling in community hands in Dingwall.
