That the Parliament recognises National Rehabilitation Awareness Week and the vital contribution that rehabilitation makes to helping people to recover from illness and injury, manage long-term conditions and live independently; acknowledges the important role that community rehabilitation plays in preventing avoidable hospital admissions, supporting timely discharge and reducing pressure on health and social care services; notes reported concerns that access to rehabilitation remains inconsistent across Scotland, with people experiencing unequal access based on geography, diagnosis or local service capacity; welcomes the work of the Right to Rehabilitation Coalition, which brings together more than 20 professional and third sector organisations committed to improving access to rehabilitation, and calls on the Scottish Government to improve equitable access to rehabilitation services across Scotland and to ensure that rehabilitation is embedded as a core component of a sustainable, preventative and community-based health and social care system.
