That the Parliament congratulates the West Lanarkshire Girlguiding County President, Morna Ferguson, on being awarded the British Empire Medal (BEM) in The King's Birthday Honours in recognition of her exceptional services to Girlguiding and charity; understands that, in 1991, alongside Joyce Hamilton, Morna blazed a trail for Guides from Scotland to travel to Ghana to volunteer in communities and work in partnership with Ghana Girl Guides, forming an enduring connection and friendship between the organisations; believes that, over her many years of service, Morna has embodied Girlguiding Scotland’s values and its mission to empower girls to find their voice, inspire them to discover the best in themselves and make a positive difference in their community; commends Morna for the lasting difference that she has made to the lives of so many girls and young women over the years, and wishes her all the very best for the future.
