Welcoming the Memorandum of Understanding between Scotland, Wales and the North of Ireland

That the Parliament welcomes the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Scottish National Party, Plaid Cymru and Sinn Féin on 14 September 2026; agrees with the memorandum's call for "the British Government to prepare for, plan and facilitate constitutional change in each jurisdiction" of the devolved nations; notes that this memorandum, which reaffirms the three leaders' commitment to working constructively together in the shared interests of the people they represent, underlines what it considers to be the inescapable changing landscape of the UK, with the First Ministers of Scotland, Wales and the North of Ireland all committed to independence from the UK Parliament for the first time in the history of devolution; agrees with the memorandum that "Westminster's time is coming to an end"; believes that Scotland, Wales, the North of Ireland and England would all work better together as equal, independent nations, sharing ideas and expertise as part of a relationship built on mutual respect and common interests, and calls on the UK Government to work with the leaders of the three nations in empowering the people of Scotland, Wales and the North of Ireland to decide their own future.
