Congratulating Cnoc Soilleir

That the Parliament congratulates Cnoc Soilleir, the Gaelic cultural, educational and community centre in Daliburgh, South Uist, on the completion of its major extension, which was marked by a community open day on 28 August 2026; recognises that the development completes the vision for a dedicated centre for Gaelic language, culture, music, dance, education and community life in South Uist; welcomes the addition of a new 200-seat auditorium and specialist dance studio, which will expand opportunities for local learning, performance, creativity and cultural participation; commends the partnership between Ceòlas Uibhist and UHI North, West and Hebrides in creating and developing what it considers to be a nationally significant facility; notes the support provided by national, regional and local partners; acknowledges the role that Cnoc Soilleir has played since opening in 2022 as a hub for Gaelic and traditional arts, education, research and community engagement; recognises its importance in supporting the vitality and sustainability of Gaelic-speaking communities in South Uist and across the Highlands and Islands, and wishes everyone involved continued success.
