That the Parliament congratulates William Thomson, who works at University Hospital Wishaw, on winning gold in the Group 4 final at the 2026 World Abilitysport Guttmann Games, which took place in Finland; recognises that William secured his second World Disability Billiards and Snooker (WDBS) title of 2026 with a 3-1 victory over Pakistan’s Muhammad Ali, dropping just two frames throughout the competition; commends William on recording the highest break of the event, with an impressive run of 59; notes that William is Scotland’s most successful ever WDBS player, having now won 11 overall titles, placing him joint eighth on the WDBS all-time roll of honour; acknowledges the pride of his colleagues, supporters and UNISON, which proudly sponsors William, and celebrates his outstanding achievement, dedication and contribution to disability sport, wishing him continued success in future competitions.
