That the Parliament marks Ukrainian Independence Day on 24 August 2026; acknowledges that Russia's illegal war against Ukraine is now in its fifth year; notes that many Ukrainians have sought shelter in Scotland since Russia's full-scale invasion, with many settling in Glasgow; recognises that the Community of Ukrainians in Glasgow / Association of Ukrainians in Great Britain (AUGB) Glasgow has become a valued part of the community, particularly in Glasgow Anniesland, where it frequently holds events for the Ukrainian diaspora and the wider community in Victoria Park, including a successful family day on 23 August 2026, organised jointly with the Victoria Park Community Trust, and reaffirms Scotland’s solidarity with Ukraine and the Ukrainian people, both those living in Scotland and those continuing to fight to preserve their country's independence.
