That the Parliament recognises the legacy created by Nicole and Gordon Calderwood of Motherwell in memory of their daughters, Ava and Poppy; notes that Ava was born with the rare kidney disease, nephronophthisis (NPHP), and spent the first four weeks of her life in the Transitional Care Unit at University Hospital Wishaw before sadly passing away at just nine weeks old; further notes that, exactly one year later, the family experienced the heart breaking loss of their daughter, Poppy, who was stillborn; acknowledges the exceptional care, compassion and support provided by the Transitional Care Unit and maternity staff at the hospital during the family's most difficult times; commends Nicole and Gordon for transforming their grief into a lasting legacy through fundraising, raising more than £12,000 to enhance maternity services at the hospital; recognises that these funds have provided equipment, supported staff training, contributed to the refurbishment of facilities used by bereaved families and enabled the donation of two cuddle cots in memory of Ava and Poppy, allowing other families precious time with their babies, and thanks the Calderwood family for ensuring that the memory of Ava and Poppy continues to bring comfort, care and hope to others.
