That the Parliament warmly congratulates Angus farmer and agritourism leader, Caroline Millar, on being appointed an MBE in The King’s Birthday Honours; recognises what it sees as her outstanding contribution to transforming Scotland’s agritourism sector and strengthening the rural economy; celebrates almost two decades of leadership, advocacy and innovation, including her role in establishing Scottish Agritourism in 2020 and helping to grow a sector, which is now worth almost £300 million and welcomes more than 2.5 million visitors each year; notes Caroline’s leadership in Scotland’s successful bid to host the inaugural Global Agritourism Conference in Aberdeen; recognises her work with her husband in establishing The Hideaway Experience at Balkello Farm and her achievement in purchasing Wester Keith in 2021; commends Caroline for championing farmers, rural businesses and sustainable rural development, and wishes her continued success in helping shape the future of Scotland’s rural economy.
