That the Parliament welcomes the Forget-Me-Not Friends Programme, a unique intergenerational partnership between Morningside Care Home and Morningside Primary School in Newmains, which brings together residents and pupils to promote understanding, empathy and connection; recognises that the programme aims to develop young dementia ambassadors by giving children experiential learning beyond the classroom; understands that pupils have explored topics including ageing, brain health, dementia awareness, communication and identity; acknowledges the important role of care home residents as active educators sharing their life stories and experiences, and celebrates the programme’s success in challenging stigma, strengthening intergenerational relationships and helping young people better understand dementia and the people affected by it.
