  • Motion reference: S7M-00448

That the Parliament congratulates Wishaw’s Ayley Crawford on being chosen as guest of honour to launch Cancer Research UK’s Pretty Muddy event at Strathclyde Park, which saw around 3,000 participants take part in a 5k obstacle course and raise over £400,000 for vital cancer research; recognises Ayley’s inspiring recovery following a stem cell transplant for leukaemia and her subsequent remission, and her ongoing fundraising efforts alongside Riley Hill and Reece Holden; thanks all those who took part in the event and contributed to its fundraising success; acknowledges the importance of continued investment in cancer research to improve prevention, diagnosis and treatment, given that around 36,700 people are diagnosed with cancer each year in Scotland, and wishes Ayley all the very best for the future.
