That the Parliament welcomes the launch of Creating Safer Colleges: A practical toolkit to strengthen college responses to gender-based violence (GBV) and harassment, co-developed by the College Development Network (CDN) and Colleges Scotland, in partnership with stakeholders across the sector; recognises the importance of ensuring that colleges are safe, inclusive environments for all students and staff; notes that the toolkit brings together practical guidance, evidence, and specialist expertise to support colleges in preventing and responding to GBV and harassment; further notes that it promotes consistent, trauma-informed approaches and provides clear guidance for staff at all levels; acknowledges the findings of the 2025 report, Colleges’ Approach to Tackling Gender-based Violence and Harassment, including progress made and ongoing challenges such as resource pressures and the need for consistency; commends the collaborative approach taken in developing the toolkit, including the involvement of colleges, student associations and specialist organisations such as EmilyTest, Rape Crisis Scotland, White Ribbon Scotland and Amina Muslim Women’s Resource Centre, and supports continued collective action across Scotland’s college sector to prevent gender-based violence and harassment and to ensure that all learners and staff feel safe, respected and supported.
